OPSC Recruitment 2012 For Research Officer (Class II)

Orissa Public Service Commission (OPSC), Cuttack, Odisha/Orissa, has invited applications from eligible, skillful and capable candidates for recruitment 2012, for the posts of Research Officer, in Class II (Group B).
 
Candidates will be appointed for Odisha Town Planning Service under Housing and Urban Development Department. Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of Career Assessment, Preliminary Written Test and Viva Voce. Candidates short-listed in the initial screening will be called for the preliminary written test.
 
Only preliminary written test qualified candidates will be called for the viva voce, by the selection committee. The test / interview schedule and centre address will be mentioned in the candidate’s call letter.

Eligibility:

Educational Qualification:
  • Master’s Degree in Economics / Sociology / Statistics / Geography or Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University / Institute
  • Degree / Diploma in Regional / Town planning or its equivalent qualification from a recognized University / Institute
  • Minimum two years of work experience in Collection Compilation, and Analysis of Data relating to Demographic Socio Economic, Industrial & Physical Studies, and their Interpretation
  • Familiarity with work experience in Town and Regional Planning Surveys, Tabulation of Data, and Interpretation is desirable.
  • Good command over Odia Language (read, write and speak)
  • Must have passed minimum one examination in Odia language in Middle English School Standard conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha or Education Department of Government of Odisha or any other Board / Council of Secondary Education approved by the Government of Odisha, in support of passing of Odia Language Test (ME School standard)
Age Limit:
  • Candidates should be above the age of 21 years and below the age of 32 years.
  • Age relaxation for SC / ST / SEBC / Women / EXS / PH candidates provided as per commission norms

Application Fee: Rs 200 (Exempted for SC / ST candidates of Odisha)

How To Apply:

  • Candidates, who fulfill the eligibility criteria and are willing to apply, can apply online by visiting the official link of OPSC: http://opsconline.gov.in/
  • Online registration began from September 10, 2012 and will close on October 10, 2012.
  • After successful submission of the online application form, the system will generate a complete application form with unique Registration ID, which candidates should print out and use it for the further process.
  • After submitting the online application form, candidates should take a print out of the Online Challan (Pay-in-Slip), for paying the fees amount.
  • Candidates can pay the fee amount of Rs 200, in any branch of State Bank of India (SBI), in the Account No. mentioned on the Challan, from September 10, 2012 till October 12, 2012.
  • After paying the application fees in the SBI branch, the bank will generate a complete Challan Copies with unique Journal No., of which candidate’s Challan Copy will be kept with them and OPSC Challan Copy should be sent along with the application form.
  • Printed Online Application form, along with two recent passport-size photographs, OPSC Challan copy and attested (by Gazetted Officer) copies of all testimonials / certificates, should be submitted to The Special Secretary, Odisha Public Service Commission, 19, Dr. P.K. Parija Road, Cuttack (Orissa) - 753001, by registered post / speed post / courier service on or before October 17, 2012.
  • Candidates should mention “Application for the Posts of Research Officer” on the envelope in which the form would be sent.
