Rajya Sabha Secretariat, New Delhi, has invited applications from well-qualified and talented Indian citizens, for recruitment 2011, for various posts. The recruitment is to be done for the following positions:
  • Junior Parliamentary Interpreter (English / Hindi)
  • Junior Parliamentary Interpreter (Telugu)
  • Junior Parliamentary Reporter (Hindi)
  • Junior Parliamentary Reporter (English)
  • Executive / Legislative / Committee / Protocol Assistant
  • Security Assistant Grade II
  • Junior Clerk (English)
  • Junior Clerk (Urdu)

  • Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade)
Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of preliminary examination / oration test followed by written examination, skill test, and personal interview. Eligibility:

Educational Qualification:
Junior Parliamentary Interpreter (English / Hindi / Telugu)
  • Master’s degree in English with Hindi language upto degree level or Master’s Degree in Hindi with English language upto degree level or Master’s degree in any discipline with Telugu language upto degree level from a recognized University / Institute
  • Should have experience in Translation or Interpretation work
  • Should have Certificate in Computer Course recognized by AICTE / DOEACC or
  • Courses equivalent to ‘O’ Level in terms of syllabus and duration of course as prescribed by DOEACC
Junior Parliamentary Reporter (Hindi / English)
  • Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized University / Institute
  • Should have minimum Shorthand speed of 160 WPM in Hindi / English
  • Should have Certificate in Computer Course recognized by AICTE / DOEACC or
  • Courses equivalent to ‘O’ Level in terms of syllabus and duration of course as prescribed by DOEACC
Executive / Legislative / Committee / Protocol Assistant
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University / Institute
  • Should have Certificate in Computer Course recognized by AICTE / DOEACC or
  • Courses equivalent to ‘O’ Level in terms of syllabus and duration of course as prescribed by DOEACC
Security Assistant Grade II
  • Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized University / Institute
  • Should have 'C' Certificate in NCC or Sportsman of distinction who have represented a State or the country at the National or International level in sports and athletics or who have represented a University in recognized Inter-University Tournament
  • Should have Certificate in Computer Course recognized by AICTE / DOEACC or
  • Courses equivalent to ‘O’ Level in terms of syllabus and duration of course as prescribed by DOEACC
Junior Clerk (English / Urdu)
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University / Institute
  • Should have minimum Typing speed of 40 WPM in English / Urdu
  • Should have Certificate in Computer Course recognized by AICTE / DOEACC or
  • Courses equivalent to ‘O’ Level in terms of syllabus and duration of course as prescribed by DOEACC
Translator
  • Master’s Degree in Hindi with English as asubject at the Degree level or Master’sDegree in English with Hindi as a subject atthe Degree level or Master’s Degree in anysubject with Hindi and English as subjects atthe Degree level or Master’s Degree in anysubject with Hindi medium and English as asubject at the Degree level or Master’sDegree in any subject with English mediumand Hindi as a subject at the Degree level, from a recognized University / Institute
  • Diploma / Certificate Course in Translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa from a recognized University / Institute or 2 years of working experience in Translation work from Hindi to English and vice-versa in Central / State Government Offices or State Legislature Secretariats or Central/ State Public Sector Undertakings/ Autonomous Bodies / Supreme Court of India / High Courts
  • Should have Certificate in Computer Course recognized by AICTE / DOEACC or
  • Courses equivalent to ‘O’ Level in terms of syllabus and duration of course as prescribed by DOEACC
Junior Proof Reader
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University / Institute
  • Diploma in Printing Technology or Postgraduate Diploma in Book Publishing from any Institute approved by AICTE
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience as Copy Holder in English and Hindi in a Printing Press coming under the purview of Factories Act, 1948 as amended
  • Should have Certificate in Computer Course recognized by AICTE / DOEACC or
  • Courses equivalent to ‘O’ Level in terms of syllabus and duration of course as prescribed by DOEACC
Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade)
  • Matriculation or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Board
  • Should have valid Commercial LMV / HMV license
  • Should have good skills and experience in driving motor vehicles
Age Limit:
  • 18 - 30 years: Junior Parliamentary Interpreter & Translator
  • 18 - 32 years: Junior Proof Reader
  • 18 - 27 years: Junior Parliamentary Reporter, Executive / Legislative / Committee / Protocol Assistant, Security Assistant, Junior Clerk & Staff Car Driver
  • Age relaxation for SC / ST / OBC / PH candidates as per government norms

  • Candidates can pay the application fee in any branch of State Bank of India, in the Account Name: DDO, Rajya Sabha, Account No: 31096407809, through Challan.
  • After paying the application fee through Challan, the bank will generate Challan copies mentioning the Branch Name & Code Number, Branch Journal No, and Date of Deposit & Amount.
  • Candidates should keep the “Candidate’s Challan Copy” with them as a future reference and should send the “Secretariat Challan Copy” for the further process.
  • Application form duly complete in all respect, along with self-addressed post card and Secretariat copy of fee payment Challan should be submitted to The Recruitment Cell, Rajya Sabha Secretariat, Room No 629, Parliament House Annexe, New Delhi - 110001, by registered / speed post.
  • Candidates should mention “Name of the Category Applied For_________” on the envelope in which the form would be sent.
