Tea Board of India, North Eastern Zonal Office, Jorhat, Assam, has invited applications from eligible, knowledgeable and skillful candidates for recruitment 2013, for various posts. The recruitment is to be done for the following positions:
  • Development Officer
  • Factory Advisory Officer
  • Special Grade Stenographer
  • Assistant Accountant
  • Assistant
Selection of the candidates will be made on the basis of their performance in Written Test, Skill Test (if applicable) and Personal Interview. Candidates qualified in the written test will be called for the skill test / interview, by the selection committee. The written test will be held at Jorhat centre.

Eligibility:

Development Officer
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science / Agriculture from a recognized University
  • Should have practical experience in the Methods of Cultivation and Manufacture of Tea / Training at the Tocklai Experimental Stationor UPASI
  • Should have knowledge of any of the local languages of North Eastern State
  • Should have valid two wheeler driving license
  • Should have good knowledge of Computers i.e., Microsoft Windows, MS-Office, Excel, Power Point, Internet, E Mails, etc.
  • Should have preliminary knowledge on functions of Tea Board, Tea Act, Control Orders, etc.
  • Candidates should be below the age of 32 years.
Factory Advisory Officer
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Instrumentation / Agriculture Engineer from a recognized University / Institute
  • Minimum two years of work experience in a tea or coffee factory registered with the Tea or Coffee Board or Government Licensed Food Processing & Packaging Factory
  • Should have experience in a quality tea manufacturing factory, energy conservation, factory automation, etc.
  • Should have knowledge of any of the local languages of North Eastern State
  • Should have valid two wheeler driving license
  • Should have good knowledge of Computers i.e., Microsoft Windows, MS-Office, Excel, Power Point, Internet, E Mails, etc.
  • Should have preliminary knowledge on functions of Tea Board, Tea Act, Control Orders, etc.
  • Candidates should be below the age of 35 years.
Special Grade Stenographer
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University / Institute
  • Should have minimum speed of 120 WPM in Shorthand and 40 WPM in Typewriting
  • Should have proficiency in Windows 2007
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience as a Stenographer in any Govt. / Semi Govt. / Autonomous Body
  • Should have good knowledge of Computers i.e., Microsoft Windows, MS-Office, Excel, Power Point, Internet, E Mails, etc.
  • Should have preliminary knowledge on functions of Tea Board, Tea Act, Control Orders, etc.
  • Candidates should be below the age of 27 years.
Assistant Accountant
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from a recognized University / Institute
  • Should have proficiency in Tally
  • Good knowledge on maintenance of Accounts, Book keeping and Internal Audit Procedures in Central Govt. Departments, GFR, and Central Govt. Rules and Regulations
  • Should have proficiency in latest version of Tally or other Accounting Software
  • Should have good knowledge of Computers i.e., Microsoft Windows, MS-Office, Excel, Power Point, Internet, E Mails, etc.
  • Should have preliminary knowledge on functions of Tea Board, Tea Act, Control Orders, etc.
  • Candidates should be below the age of 32 years.
Assistant
  • Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized University / Institute
  • Should have good knowledge of Computers i.e., Microsoft Windows, MS-Office, Excel, Power Point, Internet, E Mails, etc.
  • Should have preliminary knowledge on functions of Tea Board, Tea Act, Control Orders, etc.
  • Candidates should be below the age of 32 years.

  • For paying the application fees, candidates should obtain a DD / IPO for Rs 100, drawn in favor of Tea Board, payable at Jorhat.
  • Application Form, duly complete in all respect, along with one affixed passport-size photograph, DD / IPO, attested copies of all relevant certificates and one self-addressed envelope (23 x 10 cm) with affixed postage stamp of Rs 39 on it, should be submitted to Shri Rakesh Saini, IDSE, Executive Director (N.E. Zone), Tea Board North Eastern Zonal Office, Cinnamara (Near Tocklai), Jorhat (Assam) - 785008, by speed post / registered post latest by January 31, 2013.
  • Candidates should mention “Application for the Post of _________” on the envelope in which the form would be sent.
